Staging a home is preparing the home in advance of placing the home on the market. Home staging transforms the home, from "our house", to a "show place". A Staged home, is designed to appeal to the general audience of home buyers, resulting in a quick sale.
A professional Home Stager considers all areas of the home, in it's over-all appeal. Everything from the interior to the exterior is carefully evaluated to determine any improvements for the most optimum first impression, or "WOW" factor.

What is Involved in Starting A Home Staging Business?
First of all, this home based business does not require a
degree in Interior Design. Nor does it
require a certificate of training. Most
Home Stagers have been trained by a professional designer and have been “certified”
in the field through their training resource and this certification is recognized
by the industry as having credibility in their skill as a Home Stager. In working hand in hand with brokers to prep
a home for resale, in most cases, the broker will ask for a credential to prove
that you have been trained.
The “start up” costs for starting your home based Staging Business is minimal. The initial cost will be in obtaining
training. Most start their business from
their home office and start out as part time while still working at their nine
to five jobs. This business is highly recognized and rather than dollars
spent to get it going, time is what it
requires most as in networking with local Real Estate companies , marketing
your business and your personal set up
needs initially.
You do not need to hire personnel to run your Home Staging
business. You do need to set up contacts or a “sub-based list” of those
you might need to assist you from time to time, such as, painter, handyman,
mover and etc. In most cases you might
use the homeowners furnishings to stage their home but in some cases you will
need the use of rental furniture. The
good news is that the stager does not pay for these costs.
If you have a keen interest in Interior design, great
business sense and the focus to run a small business then you are a candidate
for this industry. A great eye for
detail, great customer service skills, top organization skills are all valuable
assets in becoming a Home Staging Executive.
#1- invest in yourself. Purchase those things that build mental
power and efficiency. Invest in education. Invest in idea starters.
#2- take detours in stride. A detour simply means another route. It should never mean rendering a goal.
#3-
achieve your goal one step at a time. Regard each task you perform,
regardless of how small it may be, as a step toward your goal.
#4-
let your major goal be your automatic pilot. When you let your goal
absorbed you, you’ll find yourself making the right decisions to reach
your goal.
#5- build 30 day goals. Day by day efforts pay off.
#6-
surrender yourself to your desires. Set goals to get more energy. Set
goals to get things done. Set goals and discover the real enjoyment of
living.
#7- write out your ten year plan. Your life is
too important to be left to chance. Put down on paper what you want to
accomplish in your work, your home, and your social departments.
#8- get a clear fix on where you want to go. Create an image of yourself 10 years from now.
The world of business is an exciting, lucrative, and fulfilling one,
and you can master it when you have big goals, big motivation, and are
willing to put forth big effort. Nothing is impossible, and if you want
it, only you can ensure that you attain it.

THE HOME STAGING CAREER 2011
Staging as a career refers to one of the hottest new trends in home selling, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. While there is no education requirement to becoming a Home Stager there are many requirements to know the industry and the protocol to designing a home to sell. The stager who starts her/his own company is usually a freelancer or self employed to start and depending on goals could remain solo or have an entire staff at your disposal. Once trained the home stager can take the business to any level desired.
Homestagingcareer.com suggests that the potential income of a Home Stager is approx. $70-200. per hour depending on a geographical location, for an hour consultation. The fee a stager would charge for the implementation of the actual staging would depend upon the individual Home Stager. The benefits of starting your own company is the freedom of setting your own hours, being your own boss, setting your income and using your creative eye to assist home sellers with improving their interiors/exteriors for all potential buyers in the market. Most home sellers or real estate brokers that work with a stager will require the stager to produce credentials. Certification is proof that the stager has been trained professionally in this field. A keen eye for interior design and more importantly the knowledge of the difference between "interior design" and "staging a home" for the Real Estate market, is essential. All in all this trade is extremely rewarding and has the potential of earning a high level annual income.
Here at Home Stages Designs we do not believe in keeping Staging locked inside the box of residential home sales. We understand that all public spaces are up for grabs with the need of proper staging to ensure the perfect first impression. This is why we feel that you should broaden your creative talents by reaching out to a broader market.
Think of the places that you frequent in your city.Office waiting rooms, hair salons, antique shops, boutiques and wineries. If you think as we do your mind will immediately hit on all of the changes you would make in these establishments that so many languish in on a daily basis. How would you design these spaces for the optimum first impression? The key is making the customer desire to come in and linger.A space that is visually attractive, coordinated and balanced in scale will definitely keep the customer around longer than the usual.
We at Home Stages Designs want you to open the box in this industry and branch out into the world just outside of the residential areas, which of course, is our first love.Staging homes for the Real Estate market, Staging new "Move Ins", Staging Wineries and Commercial Buildings, these are ALL in need of an experts touch. Your creativity is needed and will be gratefully accepted by all entrepreneurs that desire a positive first impression.
We, at Home Stages Designs, are here to train in the process "Staging" all spaces. The concept of staging is universal in that it applies to every area, public and private in scope. See our Training Page for more information of our Training Package and when planning your business remember to "Think Outside The Box".
